Obituary of Ann B. Kapuscinski
Ann Barbara Kapuscinski, 95, of Jamestown, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022 at her home.
She was the widow of Joseph M. Kapuscinski, whom she married May 10, 1952 and who died January 13, 2005.
A lifelong area resident, she was born May 6, 1927 in Dunkirk, NY, a daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Dull.
Ann was a 1945 graduate of Dunkirk High School, where the yearbook remembered her as "She's a lass with class, and loves to chatter like a chipmunk." She worked at the A&P Company prior to becoming a bookkeeper for the family's business, Kennedy Tractor & Implement, and later becoming a full-time mother and homemaker.
Ann was an active member of St. John Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of a local breast cancer support group after successfully surviving breast cancer in 1983.
Ann enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and took pride in tending to her home and gardens. She loved meeting new people, pausing her gardening to chat with neighbors as they walked by.
She was passionate about music, attending concerts and theatre, and had music playing in her home throughout the day.
She loved to travel and had visited Italy, Mexico, and her parents' homeland in Poland. Joe and Ann wintered in Florida and Arizona.
Ann is survived by her brother, Frederick Dull of Jamestown, NY; three children: Peter (Emmeline) Kapuscinski of Owego, NY, Laurie (Timothy Tatakis) Kapuscinski of Honeoye Falls, NY, and Jean Kapuscinski of Green Valley, AZ; two grandsons: Timothy Kapuscinski of Rochester, NY, and Jimmy Kapuscinski of Endwell, NY; and 32 nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband of 53 years, she is preceded in death by her three brothers, Anthony, Francis "Frank", and Edmund Dull; two sisters, Helen Gestwicki and Mary Woloszyn; as well as two nieces and two nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 20th at St. John Catholic Church, 270 Newton Ave. in Jamestown. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home for two hours prior to the funeral service. Ann will be entombed at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Sisters of Notre Dame, 13000 Auburn Rd., Chardon, OH 44024; or the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd., Jamestown, NY 14701.
