Obituary of Kenneth Engdahl

Kenneth H. Engdahl of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away on June 13th, after a long illness. He was 92 years old. He was born in Buffalo, NY, on March 3, 1930. He was raised in Jamestown, NY, and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1948. He enlisted in the US Marines in 1949 and served thirteen months. When the Korean War started, he was called up from the Marine Reserves and served in Korea for one year attaining the rank of sergeant and returned to the Reserves until 1956. After the war he enrolled at the University of Buffalo and received an associate degree in business. In 1957 he married Ellen Olson. They had three children, one of which, Jeri Lynn Engdahl, died in childhood. He worked in accounting in Jamestown, New York. In 1975, he and his family moved to Clearwater Florida. There he started his own tax business. In 1977, he and Ellen divorced. He lived the rest of his life in Pinellas County, Florida. He is survived by his son, Kenneth H. Engdahl, Jr., and his wife, Karen, of Kenton, OH, his daughter, Kristin L'Eon, and her husband, Kevin, of St. Petersburg. His granddaughters Sarah Soristo, and her husband Sean, of Chicago, IL, Kayleigh L'Eon and Karissa L'Eon of St. Petersburg, FL. and his longtime companion, Christine Price. Kenneth's life revolved around his family. He was loving, caring and generous. He was in return greatly loved by his family and will be sorely missed. A graveside service will be held at 2pm on June 30, 2022 at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Lakewood, NY. Family and friends are invited.
