Obituary of James W. Baker

James Willard Baker, 69, of Falconer Street in Jamestown, passed away July 1st, 2022 at UPMC Chautauqua, due to his battle with cancer, while surrounded by loved ones. He was born November 11, 1952 in Jamestown, and was the son of the late Richard Baker and Beatrice Baker Emules. He was employed for 33 years by Barton Tool as a machine operator. Jim enjoyed playing guitar and watching television. He followed the soap opera, 'The Young and the Restless' for many years, a pastime he shared with his ex-wife, Trudy. A man of few words, Jim was kindhearted and would do anything for his loved ones. Jim is survived by his daughters: Serafina of Scotland, Tina Akam of Panama, NY, Rebecca Lucas of Tower City, PA, and Cindy of Jamestown; as well as a brother, Duane Baker of Lakewood, sister, Karen Austin of Findley Lake, several nieces and nephews, and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Walz. Jim's family wishes to thank all the wonderful staff of Hospice for their excellent care. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 16th in the Lind Funeral Home. The family will greet friends following the service in the funeral home Saturday.
