I was so privileged to have worked with Carol at Chautauqua Institution. She earned the love and respect of anyone who met her. She was intelligent, kind and had a terrific sense of humor. Carol was a tremendous asset to Chautauqua Institution, a beloved member of the senior staff. RIP, Carol

Had the great pleasure of knowing Carol, and her sister, Nancy, for many years. Sang in church choir with her, and always had a lot of laughs whenever my husaband and I were able to spend some time with her. She was a great friend to all, and a wonderful mother to her children. She will be greatly missed by all the people that knew her in whatever way during her life. God has received a great gift into his care. She will be missed.

Carol was a delight to know, a pleasure to work with and an inspiration to me and the women in our county. God bless her memory.

Carol was the Mother of one of my dearest friends Charlie White. She was about as sweet a person a there are sweet people. Over the years of my friendship with Charlie, Carol and I kept up with each other, and she never failed to check in with me as a genuine friend would do. I’m happy that she lived a long, productive life and got to see some grandchildren. I’m grateful that I got to know her. She brought light into my life. Thank you Carol.

Working at Chautauqua while most people are on vacation can be very stressful. One of the people who made life much easier was Carol. She was always kind, always helpful, and she always understood the different needs of those who had a job to do, and those who had looked forward all year to learning and education and recreation.
She was one smart lady, and one very good friend.

One of the things I loved about spending my summers as a teenager in Chautauqua was getting to know Carol. In the years since, I always tried to visit her either on the grounds, or via a quick visit to the house. I could count on Carol having a mischievous twinkle in her eye, and a solid laugh that echoed when she shared it with me. Many times, my face & sides actually ached from laughing so hard as we related events from the previous year. (Don't be fooled: she could also deliver a stern look in my direction upon learning of an "misstep" I may have made.) Carol's kindness and sense of humor made her one of my favorite people, and I will TRULY miss her.

Carol was such a joy! We met in Rotary and became friends. Joe was my Dad's Accountant and finding Carol was a match made in heaven. They were both so happy. She was such a bright light and I was glad to be her friend. My heart is heavy today..
RIP my old friend.
