Obituary of Wendy J. Dunn

Wendy J. Dunn, 72, of Salamanca, NY, passed away at 12:53 pm Tuesday, August 16, 2022, in the Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY. She was born June 12, 1950, in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Thomas and Beverly Almgren Dunn. Wendy was a 1968 graduate of Maple Grove High School. She put herself through college making pies for local restaurants. She worked as a teacher in Lakeland, FL and in Jamestown, NY. She later worked as a social worker and started the Healing Hearts Organization. Wendy had a way with words and authored several books and manuals dealing with abuse and continued to write until the time of her passing. She had also worked for the Chautauqua County Meals on Wheels program. Surviving is a daughter, Andrea Caruso, four grandchildren: Angelique Ortiz, Brianna Tuozzo, Alexia Caruso, and Christian Tuozzo, two great grandchildren: Mary Jane Estus, Daisy Estus, and two brothers: Mark Dunn and Jerry Dunn. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Philip Dunn. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed.
