Obituary of Carol P. Olsen

Carol P. Olsen, 92, of Jamestown, NY, passed away at 11:45 am Thursday, September 1, 2022, in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center. A lifelong area resident, she was born December 13, 1929, in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Raymond R. and Florence Gifford Johnson. Before her retirement she was employed by the former WCA Hospital as a unit clerk for over 18 years. She had formerly attended Hillcrest Baptist Church and was a caregiver to her many family members over the years. Surviving are two daughters: Brenda (Ken) Meerdink, Barbara (Mike) Pavlock both of Jamestown, five grandchildren: Mark (Cheryll) DiVincenzo of Jamestown, Michael DiVincenzo of Busti, Matthew (Bridget) Meerdink of Cinn. OH, Janelle (Carl) Carlson of Kamiah, ID, Nathan (Kaitlyn) Rios of Ashville, NY, 15 great grandchildren: Jackson, Charlotte, Eleanor and Bennett Meerdink, Zoe DiVincenzo, Max DiVincenzo, Tess Berardi, Mikaelyn Fanale, Aviel Muscarella, Kai, Baylon, and Veyda Rios, Vinnie Joe Brigiotta, Davin, and Erik Carlson. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur L. Olsen whom she married November 20, 1948, and who died October 3, 1975, a brother, Richard R. Johnson, and a sister, Joicey Olson. The funeral will be held at 11 am Tuesday, September 6, 2022, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Laura Csellak, chaplain of Lutheran will officiate. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday in the funeral home.
