Obituary of June I. Near

June I. Near, 90, formerly of Tanglewood Manor and the High Rise, died Sunday August 28, 2022, in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing. She was born May 10, 1932, in Fredonia, a daughter of the late Bernice Nichols Anderson. While living in California, she was employed by Western Plastic Products. She was a member of Jamestown Community Chapel. She enjoyed crocheting and caring for animals, but more than anything she loved time spent with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Surviving are four children Jerry Near, Jr., Gary Near, Carol Sue Kinny and Debbie Brant; ten grandchildren including Racheal Schwartz of Erie, PA; twenty-five great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren a sister Judy Johnson and brother Donald Anderson. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to Jamestown Community Chapel, 35 Camp Street, Jamestown, NY 14701.
