Obituary of Patricia J. Gacek

Patricia Jean Gacek passed away on Jan. 11, 2022 at UPMC Chautauqua. She was born Nov. 20, 1944, in Sheffield, Pa., and was a long time resident of Jamestown, N.Y. She was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Erickson Gacek and father, Joseph G. Gacek. Patricia is survived by her former husband and lifelong companion, George Michos, daughter, Lisa Turcotte; two grandchildren: Adam M. Turcotte and Helaina G. (Lainy) Turcotte all of Buffalo, N.Y., her sister; Nancy Foster (Harold) of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and her niece, Tamra Gacek in Columbia, S.C. Patricia (Patty) attended Jamestown High School and worked at several Jamestown businesses including Jamestown Post Journal in the display ads department, Dotson's Jewelry, Darling's Jewelry and the Colony Motel. Patty loved warm weather and sunshine, frequently traveling to South Carolina, to visit family and taking shorter rides to Bemus Point and the Chautauqua Library. She was a friend to animals throughout her life, both cats and dogs, and leaves behind her loving Westie and 'mama's boy', Tyler James.
