Obituary of Patricia M. Lamphear
Patricia M. Danforth Lamphear, 93, of Hultquist Place, 715 Falconer St. Jamestown, NY, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, in UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, PA.
An area resident for most of her life, she was born December 31, 1928, in Derby, NY, a daughter of the late LaVerne and Erma Wardwell Danforth.
Patricia graduated from Jamestown High School Class of 1947 and attended her 70th class reunion in 2017.
Patricia made her home in Florida for many years with her longtime companion CW Russ, who managed and owned his own telephone equipment company.
Before her retirement, she was a demonstrator for Sam's Club for 17 years, working in Brandon Florida for 6 years and Jamestown, NY for 11 years and loved all the people she worked with. She received numerous awards while working at Sam's Club including Associate of the Month and several Certificates of Recognition. In previous years she had worked for the former WT Grants Store, Maple Grove High School and was a dental assistant.
Patricia loved music and followed her favorite band "Happy Days' wherever they played. She also had a favorite poem called "Miss Me But Let Me Go" by Christina Georgina Rosetti.
She was a member of the Lakewood Memorial Post 1286, American Legion, Lakewood, NY and a former member of the Ingjald Lodge 65 Independent Order of the Vikings and the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club.
Surviving are her two daughters: Susan (Brian) Best of Westfield, NY, Wendy (Dave) Gyrylo of Panama, NY, five grandchildren: Michael (Nina Coyle) Przepiora of Sherman, NY, James (Holly) Przepiora of Oxford, MI, Michael (Laura) Watson of Gerry, NY, Justin Watson of Warren, PA, Heather Lepley of Jamestown, NY, and her eleven great grandchildren: Joseph, Dylan, Brandon, Taylor, Alex, Ashley, Garrett, Tommy, Halle, Kato, and Jack. She is also survived by several cousins the Burkes, several nieces and nephews and her special niece Kathy Gourley as well as many special friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Jeanne Gourley, Judith Kayner and a brother, LaVerne Danforth.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am Friday, September 23, 2022, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Adam Rohler, pastor of the First Covenant Church will officiate. Prior visitation will not be observed. Inurnment will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
