Obituary of Betty L. Miller

Betty L. Miller, 91, of 340 Summit Ave., Jamestown, left this world one day short of her 92nd birthday, on Monday morning, October 31, 2022 at UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pa. Even though she was lovingly cared for by her live-in daughter, she now is rejoicing in Heaven, free from the dementia and blindness that stole her quality of life. Betty was born in Jamestown on November 1, 1930, a daughter of the late Byron and Mary Foulkrod. Following graduation, she spent her younger years as a nurse at the former Jamestown General Hospital and various area nursing homes. She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church for many years. She loved being at home caring for it and cherished her various cats through the years. Betty is survived by her two daughters: Cynthia (David) Gollnitz and her caretaker, Sandra Sweet, both of Jamestown; three grandchildren: Jason (Kristen) Gollnitz of Spencerport, NY, Lacey (Michael) Burns of Jamestown, and Lynn Terry, Jr. of Jamestown; four great grandchildren; and her sister, Beverly DiMaio of Jamestown. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald F. Miller whom she married June 13, 1957 and who died January 12, 2021. A private family service will be held in the Lind Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Kenneth Pratt. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed. The family suggests memorials be made to an animal rescue organization of one's choice.
