Obituary of Josephine A. Graves

Josephine A. "Josie" Graves, 72, of Jamestown, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Brooks Memorial Hospital, due to the effects of an accident that occurred two years ago. She was the widow of Mark A Graves whom she married April 12, 1980 and who died April 25, 2017. Josie was born in Jamestown on August 18, 1950 and was the daughter of the late Samuel F. Jr. and Concetta Basile Gagliano. She received her bachelor's degree from SUNY Fredonia. With a great love for travel, she began working for a travel agency in earlier years, which led to her opening her own business. She operated the Adventure Travel Agency on West Third Street in Jamestown for many years. In more recent years, she ran her parents' former business, Bardos Liquor Store. Josie was a member of Holy Apostles Parish, Ss Peter & Paul Church, and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. She is survived by two sons, Marc A. Graves of Jamestown, and Stephen J. (Danielle Locke) Graves of Pittsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 12th at Holy Apostles Parish, Ss Peter & Paul Church. Entombment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials please be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd., Jamestown, NY 14701.
