Obituary of Shirley A. Thomas

Shirley A. Thomas, of Jamestown, NY, passed away on her 87th birthday, December 3, 2022, at the home of her daughter in Rochester, NY. A Jamestown area resident for most of her life, she was born December 3, 1935, in Monessen, PA, a daughter of the late Michael M. and Anna Petro Ondich. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. In earlier years she was involved with the former Jamestown Area Janyce's and was a member of the former Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Lakewood, NY. Surviving are her four children; Timothy (Pam) Thomas of Clarence, NY, David (Brenda) Thomas of Jamestown, NY, Marianne (Penny) Thomas, with whom Shirley made her home in Rochester, NY, Daniel (Ericka) Thomas of Jamestown, NY and two grandchildren: Sydney and Cooper Thomas. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert A. Thomas whom she married August 16, 1958, and who died January 17, 2010, and her sister, Patricia O. Scalise who died August 31, 2008. The funeral will be held at 11 am Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Timothy Hoyer will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 am to 11 am, one hour prior to the service on Thursday in the funeral home.
