Obituary of Josephine Arnone

Josephine Arnone, 95, formerly of 65 Chautauqua Ave., Jamestown, passed away Thursday, Dec. 22, 2022 at Heritage Green Rehab & Skilled Nursing. She was born in Jamestown on January 16, 1927, one of four daughters of the late Charles and Carmella Ricotta Calcesi, and was a graduate of Jamestown High School. For a number of years, Josephine was employed as a pharmacy technician at Professional Community Pharmacy (PCP) in Falconer. She was a member of Holy Apostles Parish, St. John Church and active in the Altar and Rosary Society. Josephine enjoyed travel and many day trips with her late sisters. She was also an avid 'Mall Walker' from where she had many friends. Surviving is her son, Maurice "Mo" Arnone of Jamestown, as well as several nephews and cousins. Along with her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Arnone, Sr., whom she married April 15, 1961 and who died December 20, 1981; and three sisters, Marian Barber, Virginia Ciancio and Rose Marie Szarka. Josephine's family wishes to thank the nursing staff at Heritage Green for all their care. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Cygan will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home Wednesday.
