Obituary of Eleanor Ahlstrom
Eleanor Ahlstrom, 103, formerly of 9 Clyde Avenue, died Wednesday December 28, 2022, in Lutheran.
She was born December 5, 1919, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Gus and Christine Jacobson Erickson.
She was a 1937 graduate of Jamestown High School.
Eleanor was staple presence in the Jamestown travel industry for decades. Prior to her retirement, she was employed and managed the Travel Bureau, which later became Bankers Trust Travel, then Certified Travel . She earlier had worked at Hopes Windows.
She was a member of the former Immanuel Lutheran Church, now Tree of Life Church, and was the longest serving financial secretary, volunteering for 40 years.
She was a member of Zonta, Vikings, Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, Business and Professional Women's Club and Little Theatre.
Surviving are two daughters Christine (Dave Marsh) Ahlstrom of Jamestown and Nancy (Greg) Johnson of Bemus Point; a niece Martha Erickson Israel; five nephews Bruce (Joan), Brian (Carole), Phil (Sue) and John (Carol) Erickson and John (Janice) and Bill (Sue) Ahlstrom and several great nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Carl William Ahlstrom, whom she married in April of 1946 and who died in 1974; two brothers C. Leonard Erickson and Kenneth Erickson; sisters in law Agnes and Harriet, and 1 nephew Tim Ahlstrom.
The funeral will be held at 3 pm Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home where friends will be received for one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
