Obituary of Sylvia Lundberg

Sylvia Lundberg, 80, of Jamestown, passed away peacefully on Friday February 17, 2023, in her home with her loving husband by her side. She was born in 1942 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Wayland "Bill" Simmes and Mable Chapman Simmes Nelson. In 1959 she married Gerald Lundberg Sr. and welcomed a daughter Becky, and two sons Gerald Jr. and Richard. They built many memories between a house on the lake and in the hills of Randolph. Prior to her retirement she was employed by Chautauqua Hardware. She made many lifelong friends there. Sylvia enjoyed camping and traveling with her sisters Patricia (Charlie), Sandy (Ross), Janice (Jim), and brother David (Karen). Many memories were made at their family camp, snowmobiling, ice skating, and in the cabin they built together. She cherished her 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter Becky, sister Janice, and brother in laws Charlie and Jim. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday February 23, 2023, at Lind Funeral Home followed by a graveside farewell at Sunset Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Thursday in the funeral home.
