Super saddened and my heart aches to see this. Liz and I crossed paths briefly in May 2011. I was in my friend's pizza shop on 33rd Street in Manhattan, when my friend had just finished closing. This smiling angel Liz came to the front door which was locked. Our eyes locked. My friend gestured to her that we are closed. After a moment of staying at the door, she left. I am not one to approach strangers and talk with them, but Liz was someone that had a special aura about her. When I exited the place with my friend, I looked to see if I could spot her. Unfortunately, she was already gone. Her giant friendly smile and sparkling eyes had me hoping that I could take her somewhere else to get what she originally came for -- a slice of pizza. I went on Craigslist and made a missed connection post describing Liz (without knowing her name) and the location. Someone contacted me saying my description in the ad matches them, and that they're Portuguese and Brazilian, to which I responded that we shared a Portuguese background. She then sent me this photo. To my amazement, Liz (lo gray) and I had been super lucky and unbelievably we found each other again. Serendipity. We made plans to meet at the same place, but Liz's phone broke and she lost my number. Liz gave me an outsized apology and said she had to borrow her stepmom's new phone. She asked if we could reschedule, but sadly we never got to meet again. Her small moment in time crossing paths with me had an impact on me that has taught me to take the chance in the moment and don't end up with regrets. Thank you, Liz.

My heart is broken into a million pieces and will never be whole again. My beautiful soul sister has left a void on this Earth and gone to Heaven. Liz and I lifted each other up over the years, we were there for each other, and understood one another. Our friendship had no expectations, nothing but unconditional love. She was a doggy mom, lover, writer, artist, comedian, faithful disciple, actress, intellectual, poet, fashionista, dancer, singer, feminist, social justice advocate, and dreamer. I never envisioned my life without her and I will think of her every single day for the rest of my life. My deepest condolences are with her family. I love you, Liz. Our Angel gone too soon, watch over us from paradise until we meet again. Love, forever your “MK”

The family of Lee 'Barney' Kellogg (1932-1995) and Joyce extend to each of you our most-sincere sympathy in the untimely passing of your loved one. My heart and memories scream with sympathy right now. Be strong; I know you will.
Bob, I grocery-shopped for you at the Dibert Home, when you were overseeing Dibert/Goodell Homes many years ago;; it was my sincere pleasure to do so. Barney worked with several-named individuals mentioned in Liz' obituary. We are truly sorry to hear of each family tragedy.
