I am saddened to hear of the passing of Jack. My sympathy goes out to his family and friends. I worked with Jack at the Lakewood Post Office for over 14 years. I was a part time letter carrier, and often would be assigned his route on his days off, or if he was needed on an emergency call with the Lakewood Fire Department.
His mail customers would comment to me of their admiration of Jack's physical strength and dependability as their letter carrier.
One day around Christmas time, when I was filling in for Jack on his route, a customer sent their son out to the mail box with a gingerbread cookie for the letter carrier. The "little guy" looked surprised to see me. He gave me the cookie, but I sensed that he was disappointed not to see Jack behind the wheel of that mail truck.
May Jack rest in peace.

My sincere condolences to the family. It was my privilege to have served under jack, to have played softball and partied with him. Coached his daughter kathy in girls baseball and shared a love of browns and Indians with him. A great man is now looking down from heaven. I salute you jack

The family of Lee 'Barney' Kellogg (1932-1995), and Joyce, extend to each of you our most-sincere sympathies in the passing of your loved one. Judy, Jack and I went to Southwestern within a year of each other; and Judy's early childhood; parents and brother, Jeff, grew up in Celoron, a Village so small, everyone was like family [and most were]. It was a quiet, safe, childhood in the days when things were safe and quiet.
We watched our grade school(s), Celoron, Glidden, and Lakewood, torn down; and a beautiful building to house all our classes in what is now Southwestern Central, the shining dome on the hill, being built, bringing West Ellicott, Celoron, Lakewood, and Ashville, together in one big family.
Today, Jack has joined many of our loved ones who passed to the beauty of the heavens. He will be well taken care of by those who went on ahead to plan for such reunion(s).
Memories come flooding back in remembrance; be strong, Judy and girls; I know you will. Jeff, looking forward to see you again. Be well.

Judy, Connie, Cindy, & Cathy,
Ginny & I are sorry to hear of his passing, please accept our condolences. I still remember the day A neighbor introduced me to Jack. He was assisting with the Firecracker run in Lakewood. Always a gentleman and with utmost respect and a firm gentleman handshake. While I was working for him I observed his dedication to helping others in the Fire Dept. He would leave on calls while I carried on. We worked well together as I found he had similar work ethics that I seen regularly. I will miss our lunch chats the most. May he rest in Peace & comfort.

I had the privilege to work with Jack at Jamestown Burial Vault. He was a mentor and friend that never was to busy to be a positive influence. Coach Rushin said Jack was a model that any high-school football player should model. Jack's guidance has been a strong influence int life. He will be missed.

There are not enough words to describe Jack Knowlton. But, he was an amazing person. And I wish I had been able to say “goodnight” to him. But hopefully he is now resting comfortably without pain. Without sickness. Give my mom and dad hugs for me. Okay, Cap’n? I love you and I will miss you.
Goodnight, I.D. 46.
Dearest Judy. My heart goes out to you. And I’m sending you love and my deepest condolences.
Love you.

Had the honor of meeting Jack and Judy the year the Cleveland Browns Backers of Jamestown, NY when the club moved to Waddington's Tavern ten years ago. I say an honor because to many of us Jack was Gentleman Jack in our minds and eyes. As many know, it has been hard being gentlemanly or ladylike being a Browns fan, but Jack seemed to always leave game day wearing the same smile with which he wore when he entered The Wadd. He was such a great help in all the fundraising of our chapter, selling and buying tickets, donating to our yearly rummage sales, soliciting prizes for our raffles, all helping our yearly donations to so many local causes and charities in our area.
Jack was a huge help in the two After Season Browns Backers Dinners and arranged for us to host those at the Lakewood Fire Dept. Hall at no cost to the club, allowing to keep what would have been the cost, to be used in our donation projects.
Jack was the true definition of a Family Man. He and Judy spoke very often of their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and how much they enjoyed celebrating special days and holidays with them.
He was proud of his service to the community, as a postal worker, a caretaker of numerous cemeteries, and of his never ending devotion to the Lakewood Fire Department.
Anyone who knew Jack, and even many who did not, will miss him or his work for so many others. The Browns Backers of Jamestown NY will miss more than a member, and I will miss a very dear friend.
My, and my wife Sally's, thoughts and prayers are sent today along with our deepest sympathies and condolences, to Judy and all of Jack's family.
Heaven welcomes a wonderful man. Rest in Peace, Jack.
