Obituary of Lois J. Lundsten
Lois J. Lundsten, 92, formerly of Ashville and the Magnolia Frewsburg Rest Home, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023 at the Gowanda Rehab & Nursing Center.
She was the widow of Darwin W. Lundsten, whom she married Dec. 28, 1954 and who died Jan. 31, 2017.
Lois was born June 14, 1930 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Emil C. and Ella Young Holmberg, and was a 1948 graduate of Jamestown High School. She then completed her X-Ray degree at nursing school in Buffalo and was the first X-Ray technician in Jamestown.
She was a member of the Hessel Valley Lutheran Church, Penn York Square Dancers and was an avid reader. In later years, she also enjoyed traveling with her husband throughout the United States in their RV.
Surviving are four children: Barbara (R. Craig) Hughes of Lakewood, Jane (Michael) Collins and Judy (Kevin) Parker, both of Sugar Grove, and David Lundsten of Busti; as well as 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Darwin, and her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Glen D. Lundsten.
A memorial service will be held in the spring on a date to be announced by the Lind Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hessel Valley Lutheran Church, 166 Hessel Valley Rd., Chandlers Valley, Pa. 16312.
