Obituary of Jean A. Moore

Jean A. Moore, 86, of Dewittville, NY, passed away on Saturday April 15, 2023, at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo. She was born December 16, 1936, in Toledo, OH, a daughter of the late Harrison and Ernestine Day Holman. She was a member of the Fluvanna Community Church and the Red Hat Society Before her retirement she was a machine operator at Truck-Lite Co. for many years. Before that she worked as a seamstress at The Sewing Center in Jamestown and at Anderson Cleaners. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed her pets, singing, playing the piano and accordion. She especially loved spending time with all of her family and watching the Hallmark Channel. Surviving is her two daughters: Joyce Banner of California, Carol Carlson of Jamestown; two sons: Richard Pitts of Ohio, Jonathan Pitts of Dewittville; two daughters-in-law: Karen Pitts of Dewittville, NY, Michelle Prince of Gerry, as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Besides her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband Harold V. Moore whom she married February 7, 1984, and who died July 12, 1995, two sons: David G. Pitts and James E. Pitts. The funeral will be held at 1 pm Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home, where friends will be received for two hours prior to the service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Pine Hill cemetery.
