Obituary of Matthew R. Jones

Matthew R. Jones, 57, lover of good food and great wine, of 1628 Martin Road, died Wednesday April 26, 2023, in UPMC Chautauqua. He was born January 29, 1966, in Jamestown, a son of the late Richard and Marilyn Jean Irwin Jones. He was a 1984 graduate of Jamestown High School and earned an associate degree from Jamestown Community College. He was president of the former Jones Tasty Baking and later worked in Buffalo for Premier Liquor as a wine consultant. Surviving are siblings Candace (John) Schupp of Jamestown, Todd Jonsson of Florida, Kimball (Nancy) Jones of Charlotte, NC and Robin (David) Conklin, with whom he made his home; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 3-5 pm Saturday May 13 in the Lind Funeral Home. No funeral service will be observed. Memorials may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Association.
