Obituary of Janet B. Anderson

Janet B. Anderson, 92, of Brookdale, formerly of Schuyler Street, died Sunday April 30, 2023, in UPMC Chautauqua. She was born November 2, 1930, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Charles and Gerda Gustafson Bolin. She was a 1948 graduate of Jamestown High School Prior to her retirement, she was employed by First Covenant Church as secretary for 30 years. She was a member of First Covenant Church, vice chairperson of Red Cross Volunteers at WCA Hospital and life member of Lakewood/ Busti Golden Agers. Surviving is a daughter Lorinda Peterson of Jamestown; a stepson Richard (Jeanne) Anderson of Jamestown; daughters in law Julia Nelson of Panama and Betty Anderson of Oswego; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and a stepbrother Curtis (Shirley) Brown of Busti. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Maurice E. Anderson, whom she married August 23, 1968, and who died February 21, 1983; stepmother Dorothy Bolin; son Jeffrey Nelson; stepson James Anderson; stepbrother Lyle Brown; stepsister Beverly Slagle and step grandson John Anderson. The funeral will be held at 11 am Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home, where friends will be received for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
