Obituary of Gertrud M. Block

Gertrud M. Block, 97, of 3022 Mitchell Road, died Sunday April 30, 2023, in her home. Coming to the United States in 1950, she was born July 15, 1925, in Jegothen, East Prussia, Germany, the daughter of the late Antonius and Marta Scheer Grunert. Gertrud loved to be outdoors in nature and tending her gardens. She had a green thumb and if she had a seed she had to plant it. She was a member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau. Surviving are two daughters Heidi Block and Winnie Przybelinski both of Jamestown and a son H. Peter Block of Lander, PA, and a grandson Timothy Przybelinski of Jamestown. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Nikolaus Grunert and former husband Hans Block. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
