Obituary of Jeffrey K. Lindquist

Jeffrey K. Lindquist, 66, of Frewsburg, NY passed away peacefully on May 1, 2023 at UPMC Chautauqua. Jeff was born in Jamestown, NY on Sept. 23, 1956, a son of Marilyn Oakes Lindquist and the late Donald L. Lindquist. He was a 1974 graduate of Jamestown High School and a 1978 graduate of SUNY Fredonia. Prior to becoming disabled, Jeff enjoyed a career in the oil and gas industry as a geologist and engineer. He worked for Core Laboratories, Envirogas, United Refining and Chautauqua County. He was involved in the National Association of Ground Water Scientists and Engineers, Buffalo Association of Professional Geologists and Professional Association of Dive Instructors. More recently, Jeff had served as both president and treasurer of the Resident's Council at Frewsburg Rest Home. Jeff was a competitive swimmer throughout his high school and college career, earning many awards and later coaching the Hammerhead Swim Club in Dunkirk, NY. He was an avid distance runner, competing in many local and regional 5K and 10K races. In 1988 and 1990 he completed the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, DC. Surviving is his son, Shane Lindquist of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two daughters, Allison Lindquist and Olivia Lindquist, both of Buffalo, NY; two brothers, Greg (Patty) Lindquist of Ithaca, NY and Brad (Tom Rigoli) Lindquist of Jamestown; his mother, Marilyn Lindquist of Jamestown; and three nieces: Dr. Katie Rice (Mike Richards) of Rush, NY, Sally Lindquist of Jamestown, NY, and Kim Lindquist of Richland, WA. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Donald in 1999, and a brother, Timothy. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home, led by Pastor Tim Ireland. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home Sunday. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the medical and nursing staff at UPMC Chautauqua and the dedicated staff of Frewsburg Rest Home, where he made his home the past several years.
