Obituary of Patricia E. Hanson

Patricia E. Hanson, 88, of 115 Dodge Rd., Frewsburg, died Tuesday morning, May 16, 2023 in her home. She was the wife of Edward C. Hanson, Sr. whom she married April 24, 1954. Pat was born March 27, 1935 in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Oscar and Elizabeth Hager Emond, and was a 1953 graduate of Jamestown high School. She worked as a waitress for many years at restaurants such as the former 210 Pine, Brookwood, Sword & Shield and the Matador. She also enjoyed volunteering at WCA Hospital. Along with her husband, Ed, surviving are five children, Kathy Colville, Kelly (Tom) Dermont, Edward C. (Polly) Hanson, Jr., James R. Hanson, and Andrew J. (Amy) Hanson; a daughter-in-law, Susan Hanson; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Pat was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen DeJoseph; son, Paul B. Hanson; sister, Jacqueline Emond; and brother, Robert Emond. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. A private family graveside service will be held, led by Pastor Timothy Stahlman.
