Obituary of Dean H. Johnson

Dean H. Johnson, 76, of Jamestown, passed away Friday June 23, 2023, in his home. A Jamestown native, he was born August 21, 1946, the son of the late Alvin and Candis Pool Johnson. He was a 1964 graduate of Jamestown High School and later graduated from Jamestown Business College. He was a Vietnam War veteran of the US Army serving from 1966-69. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Truck-Lite as a material planner. He earlier had worked for SKF, MRC and Art Metal. He was a life member of Busti Trap and Skeet Club, Big Tree Sportsman's Club, and the Moose Lodge. His other memberships include Herman Kent Post 777 American Legion, War Vets Recreation, Falconer Rod and Gun Club, Jamestown Coin Club and Chautauqua Lake Fishing Association. Surviving are two children, Eric (Tricia) Johnson of Falconer and Stephanie McIntyre of Lakewood; five grandchildren Brandon (Journee) Johnson, Brock (Kayla) Johnson, and Jaxin Johnson and Alyssa, Gaige McIntyre along with his beloved cat Baby. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Paula Salone Johnson, whom he married July 29, 1972, and who died November 29, 2022, and a brother Bryan Johnson. The funeral will be held at 1 pm Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home, where friends will be received from 11 am to 1 pm Tuesday. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
