Obituary of Harold P. Forbes Jr.

Harold P. Forbes, Jr., 85, of 2487 Open Meadows Road, Ashville, died Thursday July 6, 2023, in UPMC Chautauqua. He was born October 15, 1937, in Jamestown, a son of the late Harold and Emma Dean Forbes, Sr. He was a graduate of Jamestown High School and was a veteran of the US Air Force. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Carborundum as a factory worker. He was a long-time member of the Jamestown Harmony Express Barbershop Chorus. He was a skilled carpenter, avid golfer and enjoyed watching classic movies and western television shows. Surviving is his wife Arnella Herzing Forbes, whom he married October 1, 1994; two children Daphne (Daryl) Burch of Statesboro, GA, and Michael (Dawn) Forbes of Frewsburg; grandchildren Devin Burch, Darci Hyppolite and Hannah and Conner Forbes; stepson Chris (Deborah) Loomis of Bemus Point; step grandson Thomas Loomis and his cat Gabe. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by siblings Warren, Morris, Richard, Darwin and Charlotte Forbes, Geraldine Bosak, Shirley Martin, Cora Brown and Beverly Higgs. The funeral will be held at 11 am Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home, where friends will be received from 10 to 11 am Wednesday.
