Obituary of Sue A. Devine

Sue Ann Devine, 79, of Panama, NY, passed away on her birthday Saturday July 8, 2023, at UPMC Chautauqua. She was born July 8, 1944, in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Harold and Ada Burnett. Sue worked at the Chautauqua County offices, Chautauqua Hardware as a secretary but most notably was the secretary to the plant manager at Cummins Engine Plant until she retired. Sue was a loving and caring mother and grandmother who enjoyed shopping, drawing and adult coloringbooks. She took many camping trips with her late husband Wes with Watkins Glen being her favorite. She and Wes attended many car shows with family and friends to show Wes's special Ford truck. She loved the beach and water and going to Barcelona. Around the holidays the family could always count on her to make her delicious homemade candy and pumpkin pie. Surviving are two sons David (Sherry Gulczynski) Devine and John Devine; her brother -in-law Donnie (Joyce) Devine; three grandchildren: Taylor, Nicolas, Lilly and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special thanks to Clarissa Bouge for the love, help and care she gave Sue over the last few years. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Wesley Devine whom she married on May 9, 1964, and who died October 9, 2011, and her mother-in-law Carmela Seth. Per Sue's wishes, no service or visitation will be observed at this time. A Celebration of her life will be held on a future date.
