Obituary of Marian L. Ruby

Marian L. Ruby, 90, of Lakewood, NY, passed away peacefully Wednesday July 26, 2023, in Camden, Arkansas surrounded by her family. She was born March 2, 1933, in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Gilbert and Pauline Johnson Decker. Marian was a 1951 graduate of Southwestern Central High School. She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church, Rotonda, FL. After retiring to Florida, Marian worked as a volunteer for the Suncoast Humane Society Thrift Store in Englewood. Surviving is her five children: Rebecca Christine (Steve) Flagg of Camden, AR, Robert Michael Ruby of Webster, NY, Walter Kevin (Kim) Ruby of Mayport, PA, Timothy Scott (Vickie) Ruby of Thonotosassa, FL, and Patrick Craig Ruby of New Bethlehem, PA, 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Marian was preceded in death by her husband Robert M. Ruby whom she married September 7, 1951, and who died January 28, 2011; her sister Barbara Pierce and brothers James Nathan Decker and Gilbert H. Decker, Jr.. The funeral will be held at 11 am Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm Thursday in the funeral home.
