Obituary of Allie N. Withers

Allie N. Withers, 100, of Orchard Grove Assisted Living, passed away Monday evening, July 24, 2023 in her home. She was born in Sweden on July 22, 1923, the daughter of the late Hokan and Anna Nelson, and grew up in Frewsburg, NY. A graduate of SUNY Fredonia, Allie was a 2nd grade teacher at CC Ring School, a profession she loved. She also enjoyed being a reading tutor during the summer. Allie was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, NYS Retired Teachers Assoc., and the Marvin Community House. Surviving is her son, David J. Withers of Dalton, Pa., as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sydney Withers, whom she married April 26, 1952 and who died August 6, 1997; and a brother, Nels John Nelson. It was Allie's expressed wish that no service or visitation be observed. Inurnment will be in Lake View Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Marvin Community House, 2 W. Fifth St., or to Orchard Grove Assisted Living, 2000 Southwestern Dr., both Jamestown, NY 14701.
