Obituary of Dorothy E. Levin

Dorothy E. "Dottie" Levin, 80, formerly of 35 Woodworth Avenue, died Tuesday August 29, 2023, in Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing. She was born April 11, 1943, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Ernest and Alice Engstrom Levin. She was a 1961 graduate of Southwestern Central School and later received an associate degree from Jamestown Community College. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Dr. Robert Ney and Drs. Morgan, Lai, and Weinberg as a medical assistant. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for adults. Her memberships include Swedish American Heritage Foundation, Southern Tier Woodcarvers, and Chautauqua County Republican Committee where she served as secretary for nearly 20 years. She was also an accomplished artist. The family wishes to thank the staff of Heritage Green's Parkside Unit for the wonderful care they gave Dottie. Surviving are four children Scott (Amy) Seekins of Jamestown, Lauri Bachman of Las Vegas, Kimberly (Jeff) Gregorec of Minooka, IL and Keri (Brian) Cassidy of North East, PA; six grandchildren Sara (Scott) Schroeder, Sam and Max Bachman, Jeremy (Natalie) Gregorec, Connor Gregorec and Grant Beadle; two great grandchildren Xander and Kassius Schroeder; a sister Patricia Levin of Jamestown and a sister in law Darlene Levin of Jamestown. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Donald Levin. The funeral will be held at 1 pm Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home, where friends will be received from 11 am to 1 pm Saturday. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
