Obituary of Leon F. Smith

Leon F. Smith, 94, of Jamestown, passed away peacefully Saturday September 2, 2023, at Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing. He was born March 12, 1929, in Panama, NY, a son of the late Loren and Reva Whitford Smith. Before his retirement he worked for Hope's Windows in Jamestown for over 35 years. He also worked part time at Janitor Jim's Cleaning and as a security guard for Pridet. Surviving are his 10 children: Timothy (Ann Marie) Smith of Hillsborough, NJ; Suzanne (Kennie) Campbell of Jamestown; Stephen Smith of Buffalo, NY; Laurie (Dave) Hamblen of Easley, SC; Mark (Sheila) Smith of Jamestown; David (Julie) Smith of Clarence Center, NY; Daniel (Lianne) Smith of Petaluma, CA; Paul (Donna) Smith and Jennifer (John) Anderson both of Kenmore, NY; Michael Smith of Reading, PA; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Larson Smith who passed away February 21, 1993; son Christopher A. Smith who passed away March 19, 2020; his seven brothers and five sisters. Friends will be received from 12 p.m. to 2p.m. Thursday at the Lind Funeral home. Inurnment will be at Sunset Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
