Obituary of Lee A. Magneson

Rev. Lee A. Magneson, 74, formerly of Bemus Point, died Sunday September 3, 2023, in Star Hospice House. He was born August 30, 1949, in Phoenix, AZ, a son of the late Elmer and Nina Anderson Magneson. He earned a Master of Divinity from Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Columbus, OH. For 40 years he ministered in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America in various locations, his last being Punta Gorda, FL. Lee was a lifelong athlete, he was a swimmer since high school, and enjoyed racket ball, softball, and dancing. Surviving is his wife Kay Haus Marker-Magneson of Bemus Point; a daughter Melissa (Joshua) Owen of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren Joseph Owen, Noah and Lily Wright, Jordan, Jackson, Abel and Archer Owen, Gage Jenson, and Roman Magneson; a brother Rev. Scott Magneson of Port Huron, MI and a sister Wendy Johannes of Frederick, MD. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Julianne Markwart Magneson who died October 27, 2009. A memorial service will be held at 11 am Friday in St. Timothy Lutheran Church. Friends will be received in the church from 4-6 pm Thursday and from 10-11 am Friday.
