Obituary of Phyllis E. Sorensen

Phyllis Sorensen, 81, of Memory Garden, formerly of 290 E. Terrace Avenue, Lakewood, died Wednesday September 6, 2023, in UPMC Chautauqua. She was born December 31, 1941, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Richard and Dorothy Miller Cramer. She was a 1959 graduate of Southwestern Central School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Cummins Jamestown Engine Plant as a line worker. She had earlier worked for Yorktowne Industries. She enjoyed traveling and had a love for animals, especially her dogs and the horse she had named Silver. Surviving is a nephew Richard Cramer of Fredonia; nieces Jill Raynor of Panama and Judy Cramer of Fredonia; great uncle Robert Miller of Ashville and a stepdaughter Patti Kent of Frewsburg. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Sorensen, whom she married June 1987 and who died September 13, 2017; a brother Paul Cramer and a stepdaughter Carol Sorensen. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed.
