Obituary of Christie Ann Soffel

Christie Ann Soffel, 68, of Williamsport, MD, passed away on Sunday, September 10th at her family home in Woodlawn on Chautauqua Lake, NY following a battle with lung cancer. She was born on Valentine's Day, February 14th, 1955 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Andrew J. Soffel and the late Ann Payne Edson. She is survived by her father and second mother, Jane Soffel; her brother Jack Soffel, her brother and sister-in-law Bill and Kari Soffel; her nieces, Hanna Briggs (Peter), Sarah Krepps (Michael) and nephews, Will Soffel (Shannon), Ben Soffel (Abbey), and Graham Soffel. Christie was a lifelong loving and passionate caretaker of animals, and she is also survived by her cherished English Cream Retriever, Milo. Christie was a bright, witty, shining presence in the lives of her friends and family. She had a fabulous sense of humor that inspired laughter and joy. She was a teacher who touched the lives of many with learning, including her great nieces and nephews. She lived a spiritual life true to her values, and she was a source of positive guidance for many in her community. Christie's family will gather privately for a celebration of her life.
