Obituary of Concetta Giovanna Griffo

Concetta Giovanna (Zacarri) Griffo, 92, of Jamestown, N.Y., went home to the Lord on September 22, 2023. She was born February 19, 1931, in Dunkirk, NY, a daughter of Anthony and Jenny Lucy (Saglimben) Zaccari. She graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1948. She was married for 67 years to Dr. Joseph Griffo, D.D.S., who passed September 7, 2021. She was the business manager for his dentistry practice in Jamestown for 30 years, from 1969 until they retired in 1999. She is survived by her children: Joseph (Joya) Griffo, Andrea Russell, Jenny (Michael) Deacon, Gary Griffo, Mary (Jon) Harmon and Rebecca (Nick) McGrath, 16 grandchildren Joseph, Chad and Gregg Griffo; Chan, Ryan and Scott Carlson, and Alysia Busch; Tiffany Birt, Rachel Mistretta, Dr. Deann Hofer- Oglivic, Richard Hofer; Michael, Timothy, Jeffrey and Daniel Harmon; and Nicole McGrath) and 28 great-grandchildren. Two grandchildren died in infancy, Bradley Carlson and David Harmon. Besides her husband, she is preceded in passing by her sister, Mary Nasca; her brothers Frank, Philip and Peter Zaccari and two infant grandchildren Bradley Carlson and David Harmon A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John Catholic Church at the convenience of the family. Her burial will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
