Obituary of Jon A. Woodward
Jack "Jocko" Woodward, 75, of 248 Lister Avenue, Falconer, died Monday September 25, 2023, in Gowanda Rehab.
A native of Jamestown, he was born August 22, 1948, a son of the late C. Glade and Barbara Mount Woodward.
He was a 1966 graduate of Jamestown High School.
He was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corps serving from 1968-71 during which time he trained in cryptography and served aboard a ship in the Mediterranean Sea.
Prior to his retirement he was employed by Valeo as a factory worker.
He was an avid bowler and fisherman and for many years served as an umpire for various baseball and softball leagues.
Surviving is a daughter Alison Woodward, with whom he made his home; two grandsons Kian Slattery and Ashton Yokom; two brothers Lee (Janet) Woodward of Bemus Point and Gary Woodward of Jamestown; a niece Morgan Baker and a nephew Bradley Woodward.
A celebration of life will be held from 2 to 4 pm Saturday October 14, 2023, at the Jamestown Bowling Company.
