My sincere condolences for your loss. Bill looms large in my memories of working with him in AFS. I so enjoyed my time with him and Carol. Their experience was so helpful in fulfilling my duties as an AFS District Rep. Once in a while I would see Bill at Chautauqua and it was so good to see him still active and engaged. He lived a long and full life touching the lives of so many others along the way. I will remember him with a smile and fondness. Susan Minekime

What an extraordinary man who led an extraordinary life. With his commitment, generosity and kindness, Bill Flanders has touched hundreds if not thousands of lives around the globe, through his decades long volunteering in Western New York with international exchange students and teachers through AFS, the American Field Service. Loved and respected by those who knew him, he will be long remembered; his influence changed and continues to change the world for the better, with a mission of promoting peace, tolerance and understanding. May he rest in peace and may we all do our part to promote the same in his honor.
