Obituary of Jack C. Rudy
Jack C. Rudy, 79, of Sinclairville, passed away Monday November 6, 2023, in his home surrounded by his family.
He was born August 5, 1944, in Jamestown, NY, a son of the late Vaughn S. and Bernice Johnson Rudy.
Jack attended Jamestown Public Schools. Then in 1961 he joined the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman serving until 1967.
Before his retirement Jack worked for Chautauqua County until retiring in 2002. After retiring he served as president of the Jamestown Central Labor Council (AFL/CIO) until 2013 and the Western New York Area Labor Federation Executive Board where his goals were working towards the betterment of ALC workers in Chautauqua County.
Jack was an ordained spiritualist Minister who enjoyed teaching, mentoring, as well as counseling. He found joy in speaking at various churches in New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, and Canada.
He was a member of the Sylvan Lodge #303 F. & A.M., Post President and lifetime member of the Chautauqua Lake Fishing Association, lifetime member of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #865, lifetime member of the VFW Post 557, lifetime member of the AMVETS Post 50, and War Vets Recreation Inc.
He is survived by his wife Sheila Nolan Rudy; son Shawn (Angie) Rudy of Florida; daughter Yvonne Witt; son Matt Rudy; stepdaughter Heather Crist; stepson Jeremy (Kerry) Crist and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3 pm Saturday November 11, 2023, at the Lind Funeral Home.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday in the Funeral Home
