We are thankful for Louanne and Skip sharing their lovely Chautauqua Home with budding organ students. Cindy would greet us and provide a lovely lunch. This was part of the AGO program to introduce young people to Chautauqua Institution and to give them an opportunity to sit on the bench of the Chautauqua organ and play their piano pieces.
We want to pay tribute to Louanne for her lifelong efforts to pass on a love of music to thousands of people in the community. She also was a person of faith witnessing every day to everyone around her.
May all your family be blessed by beautiul memories and comforted by our Risen Lord.
Love, Don and Janet Peterson

We will always remember Louanne. She was so talented in many, many ways. Louanne and Skips hospitality was so great - to family and friends and also to non-relatives. We visited them in 2019 and we had 4 non-relatives with us, but they were treated as family, and Skip and Louanne took interest in who they were and what they did and so on. When we searched for Lind-relatives in USA in the 1980´s it was Louanne who made all the work with connections etc. to other Lind-families. Skip and Louanne made it possible for us to buy a motorhome in 1992 and for us to sell it back a half year later. We were shocked when we saw how big the motorhome was, but Skip and Louanne had realized what we needed to travel in USA for ½ year. We will for ever be thankful for this and all the memories we got. Louanne and Skip have visited us a couple of times on Bornholm, and we had a great time together. We have visted them in Jamestown and on Amelia Island and cherishe these good memories. We wish we could come to the funeral to say goodbye, but in stead we will follow it - livestream. Our deepest condolences. Love from Jette and Jørgen, Mona and Johan from Bornholm / Denmark

Dear, dear Louanne Lind. From children's choir to bell choir, high school choir, Chautauqua, and all those musicals. My memories are many and my heart is full. Louanne was one of the most important and influential people in my life. She gave me confidence, opportunities and experiences that have served me my entire life. When people say "one teacher can make the difference" - she was that teacher for me. Louanne was an amazing person, and I am blessed to have known her, to have learned from her, to have adored her, and to have a little bit of her with me always. Love, Bill Gaden

Last night a good friend from high school shared the sad news about Mrs. Lind’s passing. Mrs. Lind was our choir teacher and so much more. As a kid, I wanted desperately to be a cool high school jock. I played football every year, and tried other sports along the way but sadly, unlike my big brothers, I wasn’t a standout in any of them. Where I seemed to have some natural talent, was in music. While Mr. Pappalardo tolerated me in band (I was a jack of many instruments, master of none), Mrs. Lind saw potential in my vocal abilities. I started performing in high school musical ensembles in sixth grade, and kept it up until leading roles came in later years. Mrs. Lind patiently guided, challenged and developed me, and all of her other choir students, to be the best we had the potential to be. Most everyone knows that it takes hard work and dedication to be a skilled high school athletics coach. Few, however, realize the talent, dedication and commitment it takes to be a successful high school music teacher. Mr. Pappalardo and Mrs. Lind dedicated countless hours to their craft and to their students. They were a great team, and their dedication to our music programs and musical productions made SWCS truly exceptional. We were fortunate to have many outstanding teachers and coaches at Southwestern Central High School…Mrs. Lind was among the best of the best. Thank you Mrs. Lind for sharing your talents with so many of us and for all the wonderful memories. The Choirs of Angels in Heaven just added a new member, and I’m certain their music will now be sweeter than it has ever been. My prayers are with the Lind family during this difficult time. May Mrs. Lind now rest in the peace and comfort of Our Lord’s loving embrace.

So many great memories from choir to our high school musicals. She was a great asset to SWCS and to the music dept. We saw each other at an event at Chautauqua Institution years after I had graduated and she came right up to me to say hello and ask how I was doing. A super nice lady. She will be surely missed. RIP Mrs. Lind.

Mrs. Lind was a fabulous teacher and encouraged all musical activities. I sang with her in every vocal ensemble, played bells with her at church, performed in musicals, did after school projects and took every class she offered. She was a wonderful teacher and influenced so many of us. As an educator now, I still quote her by saying to my students, “don’t be a smart astronaut!” We loved her wit, talent and compassion. Many condolences.
