Obituary of Irene V. Jensen

Irene Viole Jensen, 103, of Ashville, NY, passed away Sunday November 11, 2023, at the Rouse Home in Youngsville, PA. Irene was born March 2, 1920, in Sheffield, PA, a daughter of the late John and Johanna Swanberg Nelson. She was an orphan by the age of 6 and raised by her older siblings. On February 21, 1943, she married Cliff V. Jensen who preceded her in death on March 21, 1996. In 1981, at the age of 61, she received her high school diploma. During the late 70's Irene took painting class and excelled at pictures of Victorian ladies on velvet. There was nothing she could not paint, knit, crochet, build or bake. Her greatest talent was telling stories of her life. She had an exceptional memory. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her son Lyle C. Jensen of Ashville and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by her brothers Rungnor and Carl; sisters Ingebor, Evelyn, Hazel, and Helen. A private family service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed.
