Obituary of Sharon L. O'Brien
Sharon Lee O'Brien, 73, of Buffalo Road in Rochester, passed away Friday, Dec. 1, 2023 with family and friends by her side.
She was born Sept. 9, 1950 in Great Falls, MT, a daughter of the late Martin E. and Mildred Brewer Purdy, and was raised in Jamestown.
Sharon enjoyed working up until the time of her passing, most recently at Tri-Tech Electronics in Rochester. She had a fondness for working with her co-workers and boss, Jeff – she could not wait to return to work.
Sharon enjoyed golf, loved to travel, and going antiquing. She never let a day go by without shopping.
She is survived by her sisters, Terry Rowland and Martinette Waid, and brother, Paul David Purdy; nieces and nephews: Sara and Roger Paine, Nicqura, George Rowland, Jr., Eddy Purdy, Brandi, Shyanne, Shelly, Kimberly, Tara, Kristy Jo, Wendy, and David; cousin, Barbara; and her beloved dog, Bella.
In addition to her parents, Martin and Mildred, she was preceded in death by a sister, Diana Farnsworth; grandparents, Francis and Florance Brewer, and Stanley and Josephine Bialczak; several aunts and uncles; nieces, Kari, Liandra, Toya, and Kiersten; cousin, Danielle; and the love of her life, George Bovenzil.
A Celebration of Life will be held later in 2024 on a date to be announced.
