Obituary of Arthur D. Cook

Arthur D. Cook, 89, of Jamestown, went to be with the Lord and his family in heaven on Tuesday December 5, 2023, in UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA following a brief illness. He was born April 12, 1934, in Smokerun, PA, a son of the late John and Anna Barto Cook. Arthur worked at MRC for 37 years as a machinist, retiring in 1990. He also held other jobs as a bus driver for Panama Central School and worked alongside his brother-in-law Harold Weise at Weise Hardware, Panama. He had many hobbies including rebuilding cars, tending to his many apple trees and building furniture in his wood shop. Arthur was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Surviving is his wife of 69 years Alice Maxine Rogerson Cook, whom he married March 24, 1954; three daughters Rhonda (Bryan) Beardsley of North Carolina, Susan (Kevin Allen) Young of Lakewood, and Janice (Joseph Brophy) Munson of Canastota, NY; seven grandchildren Matthew (Philip Malcolm) Beardsley of Florida, Justin (Elizabeth) Beardsley of North Carolina, Nathan Beardsley of Florida, Jessica (Eric) Menezes of Wisconsin, Lance (Melissa) Milks of Ohio, Christopher Milks of Canatota and Richard (Katie) Allen of Frewsburg; nine great grandchildren Jada, Lyrik, Leah and Charlotte Milks, Hudson Miller, Anna and Anthony Beardsley and Tristan, Benjamin, Colette and Elina Menezes; a brother Thomas (Connie) Cook of Altoona, PA; a sister in law Elaine Cook of Pinecroft, PA and many wonderful neighbors that he always thought of as family. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by an infant brother Ronnie Cook and brothers John Cook, Jr., and Raymond Cook. The funeral will be held at 11 am Monday in Busti Church of God. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 1-3 pm Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home.
