Papa D was the most gentle, sincere and kind man and I feel so lucky to have known him. My heart breaks for you all, so please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Thinking back on my favorite memories makes me smile. There’s Papa D and Jeff building Colleen’s desk in Newton; he and I sharing a bottle of wine and his wild boar ragu at dinner after Colleen’s Simons graduation; and him gifting me my beautiful whale cutting board. But I think my absolute favorite memory is the Amish tour he took me on during my first visit to Jamestown. He mapped out the perfect route and even took out a book for me at the library. It was a great day.
May his memory live on, through you all and through your stories. What a special, special man!
