Obituary of Joanne E. Miller

Joanne Elizabeth Miller,82, formerly of Hallock Street, Jamestown, passed away peacefully Wednesday December 20, 2023, in the Moon Township Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility near Pittsburgh, PA. She was born March 9, 1941, in Jamestown the daughter of the late Lennert and Elizabeth Lawson Franzen. She was a 1959 graduate of Jamestown High School. She married James Miller on July 11, 1959. She spent most of her life as a loving and devoted housewife and mother. She truly loved her children and grandchildren. She attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Jamestown and Frewsburg for over 60 years. She was very active at both churches as she was a deaconess, Sunday School teacher, youth worker, and choir member. Her relationship with God was very important to her. She enjoyed talking to people, knitting, cooking, and spending time with her cats. She was one of the kindest persons you could know. She is survived her two sons, Daniel E. (Patricia) Miller of Jamestown; Rev. Dr. Brian K. (Barbara)Miller of Fayetteville, NC; four grandchildren, Anthony (Kelly) Miller, Samantha (Eric) Berkenpas, Justin Olson, and Matthew son; a brother Richard Franzen; and a sister Marilyn Beck. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Miller, a brother Donald Franzen, and a daughter, Darlene Olson. The funeral will be held at 1 pm Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home where friends will be received for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
