Obituary of James L. Dingman
James "Jim" L. Dingman, 70, of Jamestown, passed away Tuesday December 26, 2023, in his home surrounded by his family.
Jim was born September 1, 1953, in Jamestown, NY, the son of the late William and Philomena Fusco Dingman.
He was a 1972 graduate of Jamestown High School.
Before his retirement he worked for TitanX Engine Cooling Inc. as a machine operator from August 1972 until September 2009. He was a committee member of the IAM local union 2105 as the financial secretary.
Jim will be remembered for his love of music, going to hundreds of live concerts throughout the years. He was a huge Buffalo Bills fan, watching NASCAR especially Jeff Gordan, enjoyed watching bald eagles and was an avid hunter.
Surviving is his fiancée Barbara Dunning; son Joseph Dingman; daughter Crystal Dingman; five grandchildren: Elizabeth Keech, Stacy Keech, Milo Rose, Lilly Dingman, Emily Dingman; three great grandchildren: Violet Slade, Jackson Wright, Luna Adams; two sisters: Lucy (Mark) Stevenson, Teresa Canfield; two stepdaughters: Melissa (Eric) O'Brien, Julie (Kerry) Hotopp and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Virginia Crowell Dingman and his son James D. Dingman.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 4:00-5:00 pm at Lind Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held immediately following at 5 pm. Nathan Bailey from Park United Methodist Church will officiate.
Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
