Obituary of Anthony P. Buttafaro

Anthony P. Buttafaro, 93, formerly of 40 Sherman Street, died Monday January 15, 2024, in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled nursing. A native of Jamestown, he was born July 31, 1930, a son of the late Thomas and Anna Calanni Buttafaro. He was a Korean War veteran of the US Army. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Scalise Brothers Construction as a cement finisher. He had also worked for Whitford Construction and Ludwig Construction. In his early career he was employed by Fashion Clothes. He was a communicant of St. James Church and member of War Vets Recreation, Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, American Legion and the Laborers Union and Brick Layers Union. Surviving is his daughter Lisa (Todd) Walter of Port Orange, FL; three granddaughters Erika (Quinton) Gregory of Buffalo, Ashley (Salvatore) Rapasadi of Westfield and Jessica (Derek) DeJac of Buffalo and four great grandchildren Isla and Qai Gregory and Dmitri and Dominic DeJac. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Ambrose Buttafaro, whom he married July 2, 1955; a son in law Edward Raymond and siblings Frank and Sam Buttafaro, Frances Paterniti and Mary Beswick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Thursday in St. James Catholic Church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
