Obituary of Helen Bruner
Helen Bruner, 89, formerly of Edgewood Drive, Lakewood, died Sunday January 21, 2024, in Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing.
She was born September 9, 1934, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Evelyn Theodore Dimas.
She was a graduate of Jamestown High School and a proud supporter of the 100 Member Club.
For many years she worked as a waitress at various restaurants including Town Club, Driftwood Restaurant and Moon Brook Country Club.
She was a very active member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church where she was a member of the Erene Society and was a past chairperson of the Yassou Festival.
Family was important to her and she treated her many nieces and nephews like her own children. She considered it an honor when her great-great niece was named Helena in tribute to her.
Surviving is her brother Thomas Dimas of Sacramento, CA and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband R. Kenneth Bruner, whom she married in 1966 and who died August 27, 2020, and siblings James, Basil, Christ, George and Samuel, and Dorothy Dimas.
The funeral will be held at 11 am Thursday in St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.
Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
Visitation will not be observed.
