Obituary of Nancy E. Peterson

Nancy E. Peterson, 84, of 2281 Summit Blvd., passed away Friday evening, Jan. 26, 2024 in her home. A Jamestown native, she was born March 4, 1939, the daughter of the late Neil and Louise Carney Ellithorpe, and was a graduate of Jamestown High School. For many years, Nancy did in-home babysitting and in earlier years was a waitress at several area restaurants. More recently Nancy enjoyed her time at home with her dog, Teddy, reading books, watching the news and her Buffalo Bills, and doing word search puzzles. In younger times she attended all local activities with her family. Surviving are three sons: James (Kara) Peterson of Jamestown, Jeff (Wilma) Peterson of Frewsburg, and Brian Peterson of Fredonia; six grandchildren: Emily Cline, Cheyenne Peterson, Brian Fardink, Lisa Bellardo, Amy Peterson, and Shannon Greenland; and several great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be announced. Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd. Jamestown, NY 14701.
