Obituary of Wayne E. Johnson
Wayne Edward Johnson, 68, passed away at home on February 14, 2024. Wayne was born in Jamestown N.Y. and resided there most of his life. Wayne attended Jamestown High School and became a carpenter by trade. Wayne married the former Sue Monroe in 1974 and they had two children Tricia and Aaron.
Wayne moved to West Palm Beach Florida in the late 1980's where he continued his passion for building in the construction industry until he was injured on a construction site which left him partially disabled. He later relocated back to Jamestown N.Y. where he continued to work on smaller construction and remodeling projects.
Wayne was a long-time member of the Vikings, Ingjald Lodge #65, and an active volunteer for many years. Wayne loved his fishing and hunting, doing both for many years with his father. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and really enjoyed watching football.
Wayne was preceded in death by his mother, Annie, father Dick (Kenny), and former wife Sue.
He is survived by his daughter Tricia Proefrock, (Mark) of West Palm Beach Florida, Aaron Johnson of Jamestown; grandsons, Kane and Mason of West Palm Beach, FL; Siblings, Keith (Becky) of Valrico, FL, Timothy of Ruskin, FL, and Larry of Jamestown, Tina (Vin) of Key West, FL; nieces: Katie, Lindsey; nephew Ben; cousins: Kate, Cyndi, and Leslie.
No service is planned at this time, a future Celebration of Life will be held at the Vikings Lake Park.
