Obituary of Michael F. Moran

Michael F. Moran, 64, of Jamestown passed away Monday February 19, 2024, at Buffalo General Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born December 2, 1959, in Jamestown, NY, the son of the late Edward M. Moran and Janice Olson Moran. Mike was a 1978 graduate of Falconer High School. He had many dreams for his life and always had a business frame of mind. Mike was a retired firefighter having proudly served the Jamestown Fire Department. Alongside his brother, Bruce, he made another dream of his come true as they opened and co-owned Moran's Floor Store and Ashley Home Store in Jamestown. As a member of the Elks Lodge and the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club, Mike made many close friendships throughout the years. He enjoyed his time catching up with his closest friends whenever he had the chance. Most importantly, Mike will be remembered for being the most loving and supportive father and "Bompa" to his grandchildren. His daughters and grandchildren were his life along with his dogs Caine and Bella. Mike was also the most loving and attentive husband as he cared for his late wife for many years. He also made it a priority to take care of any of his friends and family in any way he could. Mike took great pride in his family and his businesses, but his best times were spent with his children and grandchildren. Besides his mother Janice, he is survived by his two daughters Jennifer Moran of Buffalo and Morgan Moran of Jamestown; his three granddaughters: Elise and Anna Johnson, Sophia Napolillo; two brothers Bruce (Sue) Moran, Jeff Moran; sisters-in-law: Amy Grasso, Camille Grasso, Lisa (Jim Mee) Grasso; nieces and nephews: Katie Moran, Kyle (Francesca) Moran, Jennifer (Michael) Soprano, Micaela Cleveland, Eddie Sundquist, Elisa Sundquist, Mitchell Costanzo, Nathan Pike, Michelle (Phil) Benedetto and Michael Bova; great nephews; Jianni Costanzo and Nicholas Soprano. Besides his father Edward, he was preceded in death by his wife Linda Grasso Moran whom he married June 10, 1994, and passed away November 28, 2022. The funeral service will be held at 11am Sunday February 25, 2024, in the Lind Funeral Home. Friends will also be received on Saturday February 24th from 1 to 5 pm in the funeral home. Entombment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Falconer. Memorials may be made to Chautauqua County Humane Society
